Child Care Financial Assistance

Last year, over 600 families applied for child care subsidy through The Family Place. These are parents who need help paying for quality care for their children while they work, attend school or job training programs, seek employment, or who have health issues that prevent them from caring for their children during the day.

In a country where the average child care costs exceed rent payments for many families, it’s critical for people who need child care to get help. Quality early childhood programs can be the deciding factor in the future success of our children; those who start out with the structure, support, challenges, and nurturing environments in which young brains develop best have a better chance at sustainable, independent living than their counterparts.

Children who spend their days in a brightly lit, colorful classroom staffed by trained professionals, filled with books, where nutritious meals and snacks are served are healthy and happy. They learn how to learn and how to form productive relationships. If they need extra developmental support, they get it. If there are stressors within the family – joblessness, homelessness, abuse – that affect the child, they’ll find a team of professionals who can help. Look at the children playing in a quality child care program – they’re happy and well taken care of.

The Child Care Financial Assistance program ensures that every family has the chance to give their children a strong foundation of early learning.
