We are thrilled to share that The Family Place has appointed Stephanie Slayton, LCSW, as our new Executive Director.

Slayton has a wealth of experience in family support and engagement programs, having previously served as Executive Director at TLC Family Resource Center in Claremont, NH. Her established relationships with many of our Upper Valley community partners will be a great asset to our organization.

Slayton grew up in the Upper Valley and is now raising her own family here, so she understands the challenges that families face on both sides of the river and the opportunities we have to support a strong start in life for every child, in partnership with families. She is ready to lead our staff in offering responsive opportunities and resources that help all families thrive.

When Slayton assumes the role October 2, we are confident that her leadership skills and dedication to making a positive impact in the community will inspire our staff and volunteers to continue advancing The Family Place’s mission, vision, and values. She said, “I am excited to be joining The Family Place team. The impactful work that happens through this organization has been an inspiration to me during my time as a director at TLC Family Resource Center. I am looking forward to advancing the mission of The Family Place through partnerships and initiatives that strengthen families and our community. There are so many wonderful opportunities ahead of The Family Place and I feel fortunate to be part of the journey.”

We would also like to express our gratitude to departing Executive Director, Nancy Bloomfield, who has dedicated 8 years to advancing our organization’s mission and supporting our youngest children and families. Bloomfield reflects, “Leading The Family Place has been an incredible honor and a deeply meaningful experience. I am proud to have represented such a talented and genuinely committed team of staff and their important work with Upper Valley families. It has been my privilege to work with them and with so many dedicated community partners who are driven to make a difference, with reflection and integrity. I am excited about The Family Place’s future and look forward to celebrating and supporting their successes in the years to come.”
