It’s the nightmare every parent wants to avoid: your child reveals that he or she has been sexually abused. Parents and children can feel isolated, devastated, anxious – it’s a new world that no one should have to enter, but one that far too many people are subjected to.

But there is help. Children and their families can visit The Family Place after the police or Family Services have been notified. Here they’ll find the support that’s vital to process the experience and begin recovery.

We offer case management; therapy; assistance with obtaining victims’ compensation and relief from abuse orders when needed; coordination of medical exams; and information and referral to other programs, services, and agencies. Our newly renovated interview rooms are a safe space in which children and their families can feel comfortable answering questions that law enforcers can use to bring justice. Families who visit The Family Place will find an atmosphere of professional compassion.
