We are so fortunate to have two Albert Schweitzer Fellows,  Kirsten Orloff and Whitney Hitchcock, who will be working with the Families Learning Together program through the Spring of 2012. They will be working with our young moms promoting health and fitness using the 5-2-1-0 national initiative. They will also establish vegetable gardens to engage participants in outdoor activities while learning about growing healthy food.

With the last term of this year’s program, we started the Job Readiness class.  Participants have begun the process of creating their resumes with the support of staff from the Department of Labor.  Part of the curriculum alson includes practicing interview skills by meeting with managers at the Hanover Food Co-Op.  All women will also experience one day of job shadowing within a business in the community.
