Fifteen students from the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center visited The Family Place today for a tour of our campus and a delicious spaghetti lunch. These students are enrolled in HACTC’s Human Services program, which “provides students the opportunity to study human development, poverty, social change and careers that help people.”
In addition to learning about what we do here at TFP, the students were considering us as a possibility for the Community Placement aspect of their high school education. Next year, these juniors will choose a work site within the community to spend a semester of their senior year, to gain practical experience and encounter real-life situations they might come across as professionals.
It’s always exciting to meet young people who are interested in contributing to the community in which we live. Hope to see you next year!
