As part of the Families Learning Together curriculum here at The Family Place, we’ve started a Physical Education class to teach participants the importance of staying fit and healthy.
A few recent outings have been to play miniature golf and bowling, and a badminton net has taken up seasonal residence on the lawn at the Olcott Building. It’s not unusual to find a heated game going on between classes (students and educators alike!).
Maintaining a fit body and mind is a vital part of gaining independence; only when we are healthy can we meet the obligations of our daily lives, whether they be related to academics, work, or family.
Besides – badminton, bowling and mini golf is a whole lot of fun!
