The Family Place, along with the other Parent- Child Centers of Vermont, will be holding a Learning Together Conference at Lake Morey on Friday, March 30.
The keynote speaker is Joan Lombardi, Ph.D. Dr. Lombardi has worked tirelessly on a number of child development and advocacy projects over many years and is considered an innovative leader and policy advisor. Most recently she served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Early Childhood Development for the Obama Administration in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2009-2011).
Workshops will cover topics including The Power of Porn Culture (led by Cindy Pearce), Engaging Fathers (led by Craig Carpenter, Josh Miller, and Josh Edelbaum), Teen Trends and Adolescent Sexuality (led by Catriona McHardy), and many others.
This Learning Together Conference is a key chance for professional staff to both listen to what experts have to tell us and to mine the experiences of our colleagues for ideas and inspiration. We are all each other’s most useful resources.
