We’ve all heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, nonprofit groups around the country are celebrating Giving Tuesday, which is a day devoted to the selfless element of the holiday season: charitable donations.
Charitable giving is a way of contributing to a cause that will outlast the decorated cookies, roasted turkeys, and lighted menorahs. It’s a way of improving our community for all members, all year round. Over twenty percent of Upper Valley children under the age of three live in low-income families; 5 million children in the U.S. are at risk for developmental delays; in Vermont, 2.8 percent of expecting mothers receive little or no prenatal care – most of those women are teenagers. We at The Family Place can help these families, but only with your help.
It’s easy to forget to donate to charity during this time of year. We’re busy with work, events, and planning. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule, whether it be tomorrow on Giving Tuesday or another day, and consider a gift to The Family Place. Thank you for your help in providing Upper Valley families with the chance to fulfill their own potential.
