We could measure success by the amount of money raised during our annual Gingerbread Festival, but we prefer to use the smiles we see on visitors’ faces to gauge how good of a job we’re doing. And by that measure, we feel confident our 9th annual Gingerbread Festival was a fantastic achievement!
Over 1,025 people came to Tracy Hall last Saturday – that’s 150 more than last year. In the Hall we had nearly 90 gingerbread houses on display donated by individuals and businesses – included culinary students from Hartford Area Career and Technical Center – from all over the Upper Valley.
Silent auction, quilt raffle, café and store proceeds, JewelryOs, gingerbread house bids, gift baskets and donations raised a total of $22,000! We depend on this money to improve and sustain the programs here at The Family Place. These funds are particularly useful because they aren’t earmarked for specific purposes; we can channel this support directly to wherever it is needed the most.
Our gingerbread work isn’t quite over so be sure to check back for our thank you posts. This annual festival is possible only with the help of many people and organizations and we need more than one update to list them all!
