We at The Family Place are very grateful for the volunteers who arrive every week to help us reach all families who need our services. You can find volunteers tutoring in our classrooms, stringing beads in our jewelry studio, cooking in our kitchen, and performing countless other acts; without volunteers we would be far less able to fulfill our mission of supporting “the positive growth and development of all parents by offering services that encourage families to build upon their strengths.

One source of volunteers can be found down the road at Dartmouth College, where students of many different disciplines are eager to engage with the larger world. Last week several students from Helen Damon-Moore’s class visited to tour our facility, conduct interviews with staff members, and learn about JewelryOs, the custom jewelry business that encourages Families Learning Together participants to learn job skills and time management. We are encouraged when the future leaders of our country and world exhibit such a strong commitment to community; it makes us feel hopeful about the future!
