What better way to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day than by serving your community?
The Tucker Foundation at Dartmouth College sponsored a Day of Service on January 20th, when students, faculty and community members were invited to donate some of their time to greater causes. The Family Place was there with plenty of beading work from the JewelryOs® studio, and visitors could also take part in quilt making for global refugees.
JewelryOs® jewelry is made by pregnant and parenting teenagers in our Families Learning Together program. This work site is a chance to learn a craft and about the work that goes into operating a small business, all while earning money towards the program that teaches them the skills they need to achieve sustainable independence.
