How Are Vermont’s Young Children?

Building Bright Futures describes itself as a “nonprofit organization that seeks to assure that all Vermont children are healthy and successful by improving the quality, affordability and accessibility of services for families with children under the age of six in the areas of health, early care and education.”

Part of their goal is to provide updates on the state of Vermont’s children. In March they released a comprehensive publication titled “How Are Vermont’s Young Children” which takes a very close look at both progress in and barriers to improving the lives of our youngest state residents. The document can be found here.

What does this document mean for The Family Place? It’s a valuable tool we use in our assessment of what’s working, what could be improved on, and what areas need extra attention. Our communities are in a constant state of growth and change; to be an effective service provider, we need to respond to those changes as they happen.
