The Nursing and Family Support program provides home visits to parents and their young children to help ensure a healthy start in the early years of a child’s life.
Nursing and Family Support staff address topics such as basic infant care, health and safety, immunizations, colic, crying, child care, baby and dad issues, sleep habits, breast feeding, discipline and behavior management. In addition, Nursing and Family Support staff can visit pregnant women to provide information on health, emotional and physical changes during pregnancy, expectations of delivery, child care and newborn care.
Staff can also help families cope with extreme stress such as unemployment, extended illness, or homelessness. A family that receives support before a situation becomes a crisis has the best chance at maintaining a positive outlook and strong family core.
Home Visits are supported with a grant from the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation
