Sunday was a beautiful day for a run. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and a fresh breeze kept everyone cool.
The 7th annual CHaD Half Marathon and Ripcord 5k broke a record this year with over 2,800 runners and walkers taking part to raise $570,000 for CHaD. Team Family Place had 16 members and raised $1,260 – maybe you saw our green T-shirts on the course!
Not only did it feel great to raise money for a vital institution like CHaD, it also felt wonderful to join such a committed community of people who realize that children are our most important asset. Children were everywhere on the Dartmouth Green this weekend – cheering from the sidelines, jumping in the bouncy house, snoozing in strollers, and even running their own race on Cam’s Course. Everywhere you looked you saw reminders of why we run 5k or 13 miles, why we work for The Family Place, why we serve the community the way we do. Because children – healthy or sick – need our help.
