A team of The Family Place staff and board members attended the one-day Frontiers of Innovation training offered by the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard this spring. Over 150 policy makers, non-profit leaders, and academic researchers from Bangladesh, England, Mexico, Canada, Uganda, Brazil, and around the United States attended this exciting training.
The Family Place team was introduced to the Ideas Impact Framework, a framework designed to achieve significantly better outcomes by increasing understanding of how interventions work and for whom, learning what doesn’t work, and encouraging innovation.
This framework uses research methods and tools that have existed in the early childhood field for many years, and applies them in highly specific ways.
Benefits of engaging in this approach:
• Better targeted interventions
• Better more targeted use of limited resources.
• If we can be precise about the ingredients that have the greatest impact, we know where to invest training resources.
